Fleet Driver Assessment

Fleet Training assesses the drivers in your business to determine their skills. High-Tech will accompany your drivers in their vehicles on an individual basis, giving a report on skills in key areas. Recommendations will be made on how to improve, with the option for re-training if necessary.

All recommendations are impartial and made by Steve Forrester, a DSA registered Fleet Driver Trainer.

Why Fleet Training?

Statistics show that the average driver has a 14% (1 in 7) chance of having an accident in any one year period. This is increased to a 33% (1 in 3) chance for the company driver. Overall, company drivers are no worse than the average driver, but the increased time on the road means increased exposure.

This is not to say that all drivers are at equal risk. All have differing levels of skill, which is why routine examination of your workforce is essential. The training scheme ensures your drivers are at as low a risk as possible while on the road.

Common Errors

There are many aspects of driving technique addressed during the assessment. Here are some of the common errors made by many drivers:

  • Driving too fast and too close to others
  • Lack of awareness and anticipation
  • Driving is reactive, not proactive
  • Deliberate risk taking
  • Extended driver activity
  • Lack of knowledge of current driving procedures
  • Incorrect interpretation of others intentions and signals
  • Poor observation
  • Poor vehicle control or maintenance
